Now that the club tournament is starting its more advanced stages, we want to give everybody the chance for some friendly competitive tennis over the summer - so we are starting the August/September singles box league a little earlier!
For those of you new to the club, the box league groups players into roughly similar-standard 'boxes' of 4-5 people. You typically have 2 months to organise games and play each player in your box. At the end of each 'season' players are moved up and down, depending on points and to some extent on incomings and outgoings...but either way, the end result is that each season, you get the chance to play friendly, competitive tennis, with a variety of people of a similar level! It may be slightly competitive, but as its North Dulwich, its also fun, friendly and informal!
The league is open to all adult members whatever your level - including midweek members (although you you need to play your games in off-peak hours or play as a paying guest, booked in by your opponent). Any older juniors are also welcome, but you need to agree this with Matt, so we can find you the right box!
All the rules are on the MyCourts page under 'leagues', but essentially you play 2 short sets, with a championship tiebreak if 1 set each. If you are interested in taking part, and can commit to playing all your games between now and end September, then simply reply to this email (or DM me) by next Friday 14th July.
If I don't know you, then any indication of level would be helpful - have a look at the current leagues and give me a steer!
