Court Booking Rules

  • Members can book courts 7 days prior from 6 am. In other words, when booking to play 7 days in advance the new booking sheet only becomes available from 6 am -- all other playing times within 7 days can be booked 24/7.
  • When participating in club tournaments, participants will be able to book 14 days in advance from 6am to play in tournament matches only. This will need to be arranged by the tournament organiser.
  • On booking courts, members should select their playing partner / opponent's name to show on the booking sheets.
  • Maximum 3 advance bookings per member, including no more than 2 peak-time bookings. More can be booked on same day playing subject to availability.
  • Midweek Off-Peak members can only use the courts Monday-Friday until 5.30 pm (last booking starting at 4.30 pm). Midweek Off-Peak members are also welcome to attend Social Tennis sessions on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Midweek Off-Peak members playing box league or tournament matches must do so within the off-peak times, or play as the guest of their opponent if playing outside the off-peak times.
  • Social members have no court booking rights.
  • Juniors don't have court booking rights, but can participate in the Junior Programmes.
  • Floodlights / Automatic Light Controls
    • The floodlight booking fees @ £4 per hour are charged when sunset either occurs during the session or before the session start time.
    • If sunset occurs during the session, the floodlight booking fee is pro-rata based on time after sunset.
    • The floodlights are operated automatically by the light control system.
  • Member Accounts
    • Each member has an account within the booking system and must have credit in order to book a court with floodlight fees.
    • You can purchase credit (£20.00 minimum) with any credit/debit card when logged in. Your transaction will be processed by Stripe, and your booking system account will be credited immediately.
    • On the day playing, MYCOURTS will automatically send a Booking Reminder to all on the booking sheets with a link to share the cost for those who were selected as the playing partner(s)/opponent(s).
    • Members can also share booking fees any time when logged in by using the facility to Transfer Credit.
  • Late-Cancellation Policy
    • When unable to use a reserved court, members should cancel as soon as possible so that others may use the court.
    • The floodlight fee is automatically refunded when the booking is cancelled more than 4 hours prior to start time.
    • When the booking is cancelled within 4 hours prior, the fee is automatically refunded only if the same court is re-booked by another member.
    • A member who persistently cancels late could have their booking rights removed.
  • Wet Weather
    • If you are unable to use your court booking due to bad weather, please contact Olivia Paterson or Matthew Cowie for a refund of any floodlight fees. Their details can be found in the Members’ Directory.
  • GUEST FEES
    • When playing a Guest, members must select the "£5 GUEST FEE" as the playing partner/opponent to show on the Booking Sheets.
    • The system will automatically charge the £5 Guest Fee to your booking system account.
    • If you're no longer playing a Guest, you can change your playing partner/opponent to a member, and the Guest Fee will be removed.
    • This can be done when you book the court or any time before playing.
    • No Guest may play more than 3 times per year.
    • Please be sure to enter guest and member names in Visitor Book at club next to light meters.
    • Members must then top-up their booking system accounts with an online credit/debit card transaction (£5 minimum) in order to cover the cost of the Guest Fee prior to booking more courts.
