After due consideration the committee have decided by a majority that the club should remain open but with no access to the clubhouse or toilets.
To coincide with schools closing and as advised by the LTA, all group coaching sessions have ceased and all external matches are cancelled. There is however a strong demand for tennis with members having unexpected free time. For those continuing to play at the club, the following is recommended as minimum precautions against the Coronavirus:
Social Tennis
Social tennis on Sunday mornings, Wednesday and Friday evenings will cease.Members should make their own arrangements to play.The phone line has been repaired and broadband re-established, so the booking-in kiosk is working again.Unfortunately the clubhouse will now remain locked including access to the toilets so there will be no access to login or to switch on floodlights.
Coaching
All group coaching sessions are suspended but One2One (or 1:2) coaching sessions will continue. With group coaching cancelled our coaches are effectively out of work unless there are One2One sessions available, so please, if you or members of your family normally attend group coaching, consider 1:1 or 1:2 sessions. If you contact me in the first instance, I will try to ensure each coach gets some work.
Work on the Grounds
In these strange times members are finding they have more time on their hands and I have been asked about helping out around the grounds. Should you feel you could maintain one of the flower beds please do get in touch.
