Teams at NDLTC

Dear [[firstname]]

SUMMER TEAM RESULTS:
During the Summer we entered 7 teams in the Surrey Leagues: 3 Women’s, 3 Men's and 1 Mixed. We also had 3 teams in the Southwark League: 1 Men’s, 1 Vet’s and 1 Mixed.

RESULTS:
Surrey Women’s Team - Women’s 1 and 2 both won their divisions and Women’s 3 entered for the first time and battled through endless injuries. However, they managed to play all games and did really well.
Surrey Men’s Team - Men’s 1 won their division, Men’s 2 came 3rd and Men’s 3 came 2nd.
Southwark - Vets and Mixed both won their leagues and Men's had availability issues but are raring to go for the Winter League.

So as you can see, great results all round - well done!

HOW ARE TEAMS RUN AT NDLTC?

  • I send an email every year asking for interested team players and all are invited to 'play in'. Unfortunately we are limited by how many teams we can run due to the lack of courts, but we do our best to accommodate as many players as possible.
  • We run Team Practice on a Monday night. Team Players pay for Matt to run an hour's session during term time and then practice so that takes up all courts for 3 hours. During holidays we use the courts to practice (as matches run all year round) but only use the courts from 6.30 - 8.30pm.
  • Each team plays 2 or 3 home matches a season (Winter and Summer) and we try and book Southwark matches on a Saturday and Surrey matches on a Sunday. We try not to book all 4 courts at the same time although sometimes, due to postponed matches etc, it can happen which I apologise for.
  • The only matches that have to be played on a Friday evening (Surrey League rules) is the Mixed so we have to take over two of the social courts on a Friday night. However, the good news is that Mixed is only in the Summer (no Mixed winter league) so this only occurs 2 or max 3 times a year.

If you have any questions about any of the team information, please reply to this email or to hellojomotennis@gmail.com

Best
Jo
